Education
Kenneth N. Flaxman has been a lawyer in Chicago for more than 30 years and concentrates in litigation, both civil and criminal, primarily in the federal courts. A 1972 law school graduate of the IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law, Flaxman came to the practice of law after working for several years as an electrical engineer, having earned a B.E.(E.E.) from the City College of New York in 1968.
Bar Admissions
Flaxman is admitted to practice in Illinois and North Carolina and before the United States Supreme Court. Flaxman is also a member of the bar of the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fourth, Seventh, and District of Columbia Circuits, as well as various United States District Courts.
Fee Arrangements
Work accepted at an hourly rate is performed at the market rate for an attorney of comparable skill and experience; the 2003 rate for Flaxman is five hundred dollars per hour.
Flaxman accepts many civil cases on a contingent or semi-contingent fee basis and, on occasion, will undertake representation in criminal cases and post-conviction matters on a sliding scale, fixed fee, or pro bono basis.
Office Location and Hours
Office hours are by appointment only. Flaxman's office is in downtown Chicago, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago.
